The PPL qualification allows a pilot to fly for personal
recreaton. It is a time to take up friends and family. However, the
PPL pilot may not fly at night and only in good weather conditions.
The PPL pilot may not fly for compensation or hire, although they
may carry friends as passengers if they wish.
The NAIA PPL program is conducted under FAR Part 141 Appendix
B, is approximately six weeks in duration with a minimum of 37.0
hours of flight training which includes a minimum of 27.5 hours
of dual instruction, 7.5 hours directed solo practice and 2 hours
for the FAA Practical Examination. Also included is a minimum of 89.0
hours of ground school and 23.0 hours of one-on-one ground instruction.
Completion of the Private Pilot Course (including the Practical
Examination) allows the pilot to act as Pilot in Command of an aircraft
carrying passengers or property, but not for compensation or hire subject
to FAR Parts 61 and 91.
