The Department of Homeland Security establishes the regulations governing NAIA'S issuance of the I-20 form, "Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant (M-1/M-2) Student Status" and also the issuance of the M-1 visa by the US Embassy / consulate in your home country. Accordingly, international students wishing to attend NAIA must submit the following, as prerequisites, to be eligible for admission:

A letter from your bank or financial institution stating you have the necessary funds to cover your total expenses while in the USA on the M-1 visa. The specific US dollar amount that will be stated on your I-20 will be furnished to you in advance for submittal to your bank for their inclusion in the letter to NAIA.

A copy of your school report card or graduation certificate showing your grades that indicate you are equivalent to a high school graduate which, in the US, amounts to at least 12 years of formal schooling.

If your are from a country where English is not the national language, we require a copy of a TOEFL (Test of English as a foreign language) score report taken within the last two years and indicating a minimum score of 190 on the computer base test or 520 on the paper base test. As an alternative, the NAIA admission test may be available by appointment at Vigra, Norway, Cheshire, UK or Barkarby, Sweden.

Although not specifically required, we strongly recommend that you have a medical / life insurance policy that covers you for flight training away from your home country. If you desire, we can arrange this for you through a US company, prior to your arrival, at a cost of $600.00 per year.

When NAIA has accepted your application based on the requirements stated above, we will mail you the I-20 form and other documents you will require to establish an appointment with the US Embassy / Consulate in your home country and apply for your M-1 Visa.

There are several sites that prospective international students might use to test their english proficiency.

Two "fun" sites that NAIA recommends are:

Voice of America VOA Special English Quizzes
BBC BBC Learning English Quizzes

The prospective students should use these sites only as some measure of their understanding of English not as any indication that they will pass or fail the NAIA admissions test or the TOEFL.

International students can obtain information about the admission process to the United States by visiting:
